In an attempt to avoid winter, my family escaped to warm and sunny Peru! It’s an amazing country, where we were able to enjoy lush rainforests, vibrant cities and visit humbling ruins like Machu Picchu (pictured). In a vacation filled with exhilarating highlights, my favorite was hiking Huayna Picchu (the large mountain in the background). Although the hike was difficult, it was one of most unforgettable experiences ever! Entrance is limited, so make arrangements in advance.
Tip: try the roasted cuy (guinea pig), a local specialty!
