Official Rules
 
  1. No purchase is necessary. Contest is sponsored by North Jersey Media Group Inc. (NJMG), publisher of The Record. Contest entry period runs January 8, 2010 through January 15, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. E.S.T. Contest is open to all U.S. residents, ages 13 and older, except (a) professional photographers; and (b) officers, directors, and employees of NJMG, New York Jets LLC, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies, and immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household as any of the foregoing persons.
  2. To enter, visit NorthJersey.com and click the link to The Ultimate Jets Fan Contest. The link will bring you to an entry form. The entry form can also be accessed by visiting http://www.northjersey.com/sports/pro_sports/football/. Fully complete the entry form and upload your photo. All entries must be submitted by January 15, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. E.S.T. to be eligible for the contest. Limit one entry per person and one photo per entry. All required fields on the entry form must be fully completed. No hard copy entries will be accepted. Photograph must be attached to online entry form. Photographs must have been taken by an amateur photographer. All photos must be in JPEG format and at least 2 MB each, which would ensure that photo(s) meets minimum resolution requirements. Photos that fail to meet minimum resolution requirements will be ineligible. All photos will be pre-screened by select NJMG employees to ensure their eligibility for voting. Any photo deemed to be inappropriate in any manner, as determined in the sole discretion of NJMG, will be disqualified.
  3. Voting by the general public will commence on January 16, 2010 and conclude on January 22, 2010 at 11:59 p.m E.S.T. One vote per registered user per day.
  4. Only fully completed official entry forms with attached photograph submitted online by the date and time set forth above will be eligible. NJMG, New York Jets LLC, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents of each of the foregoing entities are not responsible for lost, stolen, ineligible, late, damaged, incorrect, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected entries, unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, online failures, hardware, software, or any other technical malfunctions, disturbances, or communications failures, or any other circumstances affecting receipt of entries or entrants’ ability to participate in The Ultimate Jets Fan Contest. All entries become the exclusive property of NJMG and New York Jets LLC and will not be returned. If you have any questions, call 1-888-829-2595.
  5. Nine (9) winners as detailed in paragraph 5 below will be determined by public voting from all eligible entries received. The winners will be determined on Monday, January 25, 2010. Odds of winning depend on the number of votes each entry receives.
  6. Nine (9) winners total, consisting of one (1) Grand Prize winner and eight (8) runner-up winners, as voted on by the public. Voters may vote once a day during the voting period. The photo with the most votes will win the Grand Prize. The eight photos with the next highest votes will win the runners-up prizes. In the event of a tie in the voting, a winner will be chosen by a panel of NJMG employees based on the creativity of the photos that are tied in the voting. The panel’s decisions on all matters relating to this contest are binding and final.
  7. Prizes are as follows: • One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive – - An exclusive tour of the Jets training facility, the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, NJ on a to be determined date chosen by the Jets. Winner must provide his or her own transportation to and from the Jets Facility in Florham Park, NJ. Transportation will not be provided. - A New York Jets helmet autographed by the 2009 Jets team - A New York Jets football autographed by select Jets players • Eight (8) runner-up winners will receive – -A New York Jets helmet autographed by the 2009 Jets team -A New York Jets football autographed by select Jets players Approximate value of helmet and football: $2,000.000
  8. All prizes will be awarded. Only one prize is allowed per household. Prizes awarded to minors will be delivered only to the minor’s parent or legal guardian. NJMG’s decisions on all matters of the Contest are final and binding.
  9. Winners will be notified by phone on or about January 25, 2010. Each winner (or the parent/legal guardian if winner is a minor) must supply valid I.D. and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/LiabilityRelease/License (“Affidavit”) prior to receiving a prize. Prizes must be picked up at The Record, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, Woodland Park, NJ. If a winner fails to provide I.D. or fails to complete and sign affidavit, that entry will be void and the entrant with the next highest vote count will be deemed a winner.
  10. Prizes are non-transferable. Cash redemption, exchange, or substitution is not allowed, except at the sole discretion of NJMG. NJMG reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Taxes and/or fees are the sole responsibility of the winners.
  11. Entry constitutes agreement to hold NJMG, New York Jets LLC, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents of each of the foregoing entities, harmless from and against any and all damages, liability, losses, and expenses arising out of, or claimed to be arising out of, this Contest, or acceptance or use of the prize(s), and/or any use, in any manner, of any entry materials by NJMG or New York Jets LLC and/or their licensees.
  12. NJMG reserves the right to terminate, modify, or otherwise change this Contest, at its sole discretion, should it determine that its fairness has been compromised. Any tampering with the online Contest in any manner is prohibited. NJMG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether the online Contest has been compromised. NJMG reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who the sponsor suspects or has found, in its sole discretion, to have tampered with the Contest, submitted multiple entries or submitted entries using any automated means. In the event NJMG determines the online entry service has been misused, the Contest will end. If NJMG determines, in its sole discretion, that technical difficulties or unforeseen events outside NJMG’s control compromise the integrity or viability of the Contest, NJMG reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Contest.
  13. Contest subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where taxed, restricted, or prohibited by law.
  14. By claiming a prize, winners consent to NJMG’s and New York Jets LLC publication of their names, likeness, hometown, and prize allocation. For a list of prize winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: The Record Marketing Dept., Ultimate Jets Fan Winners, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, PO Box 471, Woodland Park, NJ 07424. Requests must be received by June 30, 2010.
  15. By entering contest, entrant warrants that each submitted photograph is entrant’s own original creation, executed solely by the entrant; has not won any other award; has not been published previously; and is not subject to any rights of any other parties, and entrant warrants that he/she has obtained all necessary permissions from any third party who appears, or whose property appears, in the photograph. Entrants not complying with these requirements and entries contested in any manner will be subject to disqualification in the sole discretion of North Jersey Media Group Inc. Entrants must be prepared to provide a signed release from all persons who appear in the photograph submitted, and/or from the owner of any property that appears in the photograph entry, authorizing North Jersey Media Group Inc. and its licensees to reproduce, distribute, display and create derivative works of the entry. Entrant irrevocably licenses to North Jersey Media Group Inc. and New York Jets LLC. permission to publish the photograph any number of times for any purpose and in any media now known or hereafter invented. North Jersey Media Group Inc. shall have the right to use, assign, edit, modify or dispose of the photograph however is seen fit, without the approval of entrant.
  16. Acceptance of prize also constitutes a grant to North Jersey Media Group Inc. and New York Jets LLC, its successors and assigns, of winner’s irrevocable consent to reproduce and publish the photograph(s), to edit the photograph(s), to create derivative works thereof, to republish the photograph(s) an unlimited number of times in any publication formats or media, including all electronic media and any other medium now known or hereafter invented, and the right to sublicense any and/or all of these rights.
  17. Entry constitutes agreement to be bound by all the foregoing rules and terms and by the decision of the judges, and by entering this contest, entrants agree to irrevocably grant North Jersey Media Group and its successors and assignees the non-exclusive right to reproduce (and to authorize other to reproduce) their photograph(s) in any medium, either now known or hereinafter devised, and entrants agree to forego any payment or compensation for such rights without requiring any prior further consent from entrants, except where prohibited by law. Entrant agrees that North Jersey Media Group and/or its designees may publish his or her name and hometown along with the photo whenever any photo is used.
  18. Entry also constitutes permission to use the winner(s) name and likeness for promotional purposes except where prohibited by law, and to use, without compensation to or additional approval from the entrant, the entered photos in an exhibit at a place and time to be announced later.
