- No purchase is necessary. Sweepstakes is sponsored by North Jersey Media Group Inc. (NJMG), publisher of The Record. Sweepstakes is a random drawing to receive a reusable tote bag from The Record to commemorate Earth Day. Sweepstakes runs April 19, 2010 – April 25, 2010. Sweepstakes is open to all U.S. residents, except officers, directors and employees of NJMG and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies, and the immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household as any of the foregoing persons.
- Ads directing readers to the sweepstakes URL will appear in The Record on April 19 – April 23, 2010. To enter, readers visit the Home & Gardening section on NorthJersey.com’s Community page and complete the entry form. Readers will be asked to submit their best tip on how they reuse the newspaper and the bag the newspaper comes in. Official online entry forms must be submitted by April 25, 2010 at 11:59pm EST. Readers may also visit http://www.northjersey.com/community/house_gardening to enter. Enter as many times as you would like.
- Only fully completed official entry forms submitted online by April 25, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. E.S.T. will be eligible. No photocopies or facsimiles permitted. NJMG and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents of each of the foregoing entities are not responsible for lost, stolen, ineligible, late, damaged, incorrect, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected entries, unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, online failures, hardware, software, or any other technical malfunctions, disturbances, or communications failures, or any other circumstances affecting receipt of entries or entrants’ ability to participate in The Record’s Earth Day Sweepstakes. - Forty (40) winners, as detailed in paragraph 5 below, will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received, in a drawing by NJMG, the publisher of The Record, whose decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final. The winners will be randomly selected on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 12 noon. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
- Forty (40) winners will be randomly chosen to receive a reusable tote bag from The Record to commemorate Earth Day. Approximate value per tote bag: $2.50
- All prizes will be awarded. Only one prize is allowed per household. In the event such a person’s entry is drawn, an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing. Prizes awarded to minors will be delivered only to the minor’s parent or legal guardian. Judge’s decisions on all matters of the Sweepstakes are final and binding.
- Winners will be notified by phone on Monday, April 26, 2010 immediately after the random drawing. If a winner cannot confirm intention to accept the prize by Wednesday, April 28, 2010 the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be chosen. Each winner, or the parent and/or legal guardian of the winner if under 18 years of age, must supply valid I.D. and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability & Publicity Release (“Affidavit”) prior to receiving a prize. If a winner fails to complete and return the Affidavit within seven (7) business days of receiving the Affidavit, or if prize notification is returned as undeliverable, that entry will be void and an alternate winner will be randomly drawn.
- Prizes are non-transferable. Cash redemption, exchange, or substitution is not allowed, except at the sole discretion of NJMG. NJMG reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Taxes and/or fees are the sole responsibility of the winners.
- Entry constitutes agreement to hold NJMG and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents of each of the foregoing entities, harmless from and against any and all damages, liability, losses, and expenses arising out, or claimed to be arising out of, this Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of the prize(s).
- NJMG reserves the right to terminate, modify, or otherwise change this sweepstakes, at its sole discretion, should it determine that its fairness has been compromised. Any tampering with the online Sweepstakes in any manner is prohibited. NJMG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether the online Sweepstakes has been compromised. NJMG reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who the sponsor suspects or has found, in its sole discretion, to have tampered with the Sweepstakes, submitted multiple entries or submitted entries using any automated means. In the event NJMG determines the online entry service has been misused, the Sweepstakes will end. If NJMG determines, in its sole discretion, that technical difficulties or unforeseen events outside NJMG’s control compromise the integrity or viability of the Sweepstakes, NJMG reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Sweepstakes. NJMG’s decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final.
- Sweepstakes subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where taxed, restricted, or prohibited by law.
- By claiming a prize, winners consent to publication of their names, likeness, hometown, and prize allocation in The Record. For a list of all prize winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Earth Day Winners, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, PO Box 471, Woodland Park, NJ 07424. Requests must be received by October 31, 2010.
- Entry constitutes agreement to be bound by all of the foregoing rules and terms, and also constitutes permission to use the winner’s name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
