Official Rules
 
  1. No purchase is necessary. Sweepstakes is sponsored by North Jersey Media Group Inc. (“NJMG”), publisher of The Record. Sweepstakes is a random drawing to win an Apple iPad. Sweepstakes runs December 1, 2011 through December 12, 2011. Sweepstakes is open to all U.S. residents, ages 13 and older, except officers, directors, and employees of NJMG and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies, and immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household as any of the foregoing persons. Sweepstakes is not sponsored or affiliated with Apple Inc..
  2. One (1) Entry forms for the sweepstakes will appear in The Record during the sweepstakes period. Entry forms are also available at the visitors lobby of North Jersey Media Group, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, Woodland Park, NJ 07424 from 8:30am – 5pm (Monday – Friday) during the sweepstakes period. To enter, complete and submit the official entry form, which must be postmarked by December 12, 2011. Mail entry form to: Win an iPad, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, P.O. Box 471, Woodland Park, NJ 07424. Readers may also call The Record Customer Care Department at 1-888-473-2673 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 7 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. during the sweepstakes period. Readers may also enter online at http://www.northjersey.com/winanipad. All online entries must be submitted by December 12, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Enter as many times as you would like, however, limit one entry per 24-hour period when calling The Record Customer Care department. .
  3. Only fully completed official entry forms received or called in by the dates above will be eligible. NJMG and its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents of each of the foregoing entities are not responsible for lost, stolen, ineligible, late, damaged, incorrect, incomplete, illegible, misdirected entries or any online entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, erroneous, defective or inaccurate, unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, online failures, hardware, software, or other technical malfunctions or disturbances or other communications failures or circumstances affecting receipt of entries or entrants' ability to participate in the Sweepstakes. All entries become the exclusive property of NJMG and will not be returned. If you have any questions, call 1-888-829-2595.
  4. NJMG reserves the right to terminate, modify, or otherwise change this Sweepstakes, at its sole discretion, should it determine that its fairness has been compromised. Any tampering with the online Sweepstakes in any manner is prohibited. NJMG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether the online Sweepstakes has been compromised. NJMG reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who the sponsor suspects or has found, in its sole discretion, to have tampered with the Sweepstakes, submitted multiple entries (except as set forth above in paragraph 2) or submitted entries using any automated means. In the event NJMG determines the online entry service has been misused, the Sweepstakes will end. If NJMG determines, in its sole discretion, that technical difficulties or unforeseen events outside NJMG’s control compromise the integrity or viability of the Sweepstakes, NJMG reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Sweepstakes.
  5. One (1) winner as detailed in Paragraph 6 below will be randomly selected in a drawing by NJMG, the publisher of The Record, whose decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final. A winner will be chosen on or about Thursday, December 15, 2011at 12 noon E.S.T. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
  6. One (1) winner will each receive a 32 GB Apple iPad2 with iOS 5, iCloud WiFi + 3G. Value of the iPad is $729.00. Prize does not include any required data plan. Winner must pick up their prize at The Record offices, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, Woodland Park, NJ 07424.
  7. Winners will be notified by phone on or about Thursday, December 15, 2011 immediately after the random drawing. If a winner cannot confirm intention to accept the prize by Friday, December 15, 2011, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be chosen. Each winner, or the parent and/or legal guardian of the winner if under 18 years of age, must supply valid I.D. and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability & Publicity Release (“Affidavit”) and W-9 prior to receiving a prize. If a winner fails to supply valid I.D. or complete and return the Affidavit within seven (7) business days of receiving the Affidavit that entry will be void and an alternate winner will be randomly drawn. Prizewinners must present their I.D., sign their affidavit and W-9 and pick-up their prize at The Record, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, Woodland Park, NJ 07424.
  8. All prizes will be awarded. Judge’s decisions on all matters of the sweepstakes are final and binding. Only one prize is allowed per household. Prizes awarded to minors will be delivered only to the minor’s parent or legal guardian. NJMG’s decisions on all matters of the Sweepstakes are final and binding.
  9. Prize is non-transferable. Cash redemption, exchange, or substitution is not allowed, except at the sole discretion of North Jersey Media Group Inc. North Jersey Media Group Inc. reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Taxes and/or fees are the sole responsibility of the winner.
  10. Entry constitutes agreement to hold NJMG and its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents of each of the foregoing entities, harmless from and against any and all damages, liability, losses, and expenses arising out of, or claimed to be arising out of, this Sweepstakes, or acceptance or use of the prize(s).
  11. Sweepstakes subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where taxed, restricted, or prohibited by law.
  12. By claiming a prize, winners consent to The Record’s publication of their name, likeness, hometown, and prize allocation in the paper. To be notified of the prizewinner, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Win an iPad Winner, Marketing Department, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, P.O. Box 471, Woodland Park, NJ. Requests must be received by June 30, 2011.
  13. Entry constitutes agreement to be bound by all of the foregoing rules and terms, and also constitutes permission to use the winner’s name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
