- No purchase necessary. Contest is sponsored by North Jersey Media Group Inc., publisher of The Record and Herald News. Contest runs April 22 - May 4, 2012 at 11:59 P.M. E.S.T. . Contest is open to all legal U.S. residents, except (a) professional photographers; and (b) officers, directors, and employees of North Jersey Media Group Inc., and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies, and the immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household as any of the foregoing individuals.
- Enter online at NorthJersey.com/cutestpets. Fully complete the online entry form and upload your photo. Only amateur photographs are eligible. One photo per entrant. A brief description of the photo is required with entry. All entries must be submitted by May 4, 2012 at 11:59 pm EST. Electronic entries only. Limit one entry per person. Only photos of dogs and cats accepted. Any other animal photo entry will be deemed ineligible. Pet featured in entry photo must be living. Pets cannot be submitted on behalf of another person or entity. Entrant must own the pet submitted, or it must be a pet living in the same household. Multiple email addresses for the same entrant will not be accepted. Also, the same pet submitted by multiple entrants will not be accepted. North Jersey Media Group Inc. is not responsible for lost, stolen, incomplete, misdirected, late, ineligible, illegible, damaged or incorrect entries, unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, on-line failures, hardware, software, or other technical malfunctions or disturbances or other communications failures or circumstances affecting receipt of entries or ability to participate in the contest. All entries become the exclusive property of North Jersey Media Group Inc. and will not be returned. By entering, you agree that your information will be shared with our sponsors.
- All entries will be displayed for public voting on or about May 6, 2012. The voting period will last through May 13, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. E.S.T. One (1) Grand Prize winner will be chosen by popular vote to receive a one (1) year supply of Earthborn Holistic Cat or Dog Food from Corrado's Pet Market. Grand Prize winner will also have his or her photo published in The Record, Herald News and the Jersey Dog blog on May 20, 2012. Grand prize must be picked up monthly at a Corrado's Pet Market location to be determined. The three photos with the next highest votes will be deemed runners-up and will also have his or her photos published in The Record, Herald News and the Jersey Dog blog. Odds of winning depend on the number of votes received. Winners will be notified by phone on May 14, 2012.
- NJMG reserves the right to terminate, modify, or otherwise change this Contest, at its sole discretion, should it determine that its fairness has been compromised. Any tampering with the online Contest in any manner is prohibited. NJMG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether the online Contest has been compromised. NJMG reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who the sponsor suspects or has found, in its sole discretion, to have tampered with the Contest, submitted multiple entries or submitted entries using any automated means. In the event NJMG determines the online entry service has been misused, the Contest will end. If NJMG determines, in its sole discretion, that technical difficulties or unforeseen events outside NJMG’s control compromise the integrity or viability of the Contest, NJMG reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Contest.
- One vote per household per day, which will be monitored via IP address. Votes received from any person, email address or IP address in excess of the stated limit will be void. Submissions/votes generated by script, macro or other automated means are void. Any attempt by any entrant or voter to obtain more than the stated number of votes per day by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void those votes and that entrant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate/vote is prohibited and may result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the entrant or voter. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Entrant or voters may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
- Winners will be notified by phone at the phone number on the entry form on or about May 14, 2012. All winners, and if a winner is a minor, the parent or legal guardian thereof, are required to complete and return affidavit of eligibility/ liability release/license within one week of notification. If any winner fails to respond within the specified time period or fails to return a fully completed/executed affidavit/release/license, that entry will be void and the photo with the next highest vote count will be deemed the winner. For a list of the prize winner(s), send a self-addressed stamp envelope to: North Jersey's Cutest Pets Winners, Marketing Department, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, Woodland Park, NJ 07424. Requests must be received by November 30, 2012.
- By entering contest, entrant warrants that his/her submitted photograph is entrant’s own original creation, executed solely by the entrant; has not won any other award; has not been published previously; and is not subject to any rights of any other parties, and entrant warrants that he/she has obtained all necessary permissions from any third party who appears, or whose property appears, in the photograph. Entrants not complying with these requirements and entries contested in any manner will be subject to disqualification in the sole discretion of North Jersey Media Group Inc. Entrants must be prepared to provide a signed release from all persons who appear in the photograph submitted, and/or from the owner of any property that appears in the photograph entry, authorizing North Jersey Media Group Inc. and their licensees to reproduce, distribute, display and create derivative works of the entry. Entrant irrevocably licenses to North Jersey Media Group Inc. permission to publish the photograph any number of times for any purpose and in any media now known or hereafter invented. North Jersey Media Group Inc. shall have the right to use, assign, edit, modify or dispose of the photograph however is seen fit, without the approval of entrant.
- Winners also grants to North Jersey Media Group Inc., its successors and assigns, winner’s irrevocable consent to reproduce and publish the photograph(s), to edit the photograph(s), to create derivative works thereof, to republish the photograph(s) an unlimited number of times in any publication formats or media, including all electronic media and any other medium now known or hereafter invented, and the right to sublicense any and/or all of these rights.
- Entry constitutes agreement to hold North Jersey Media Group Inc, and its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, and agents of each of the foregoing entities, harmless from and against any and all damages, liability, losses, and expenses arising out of, or claimed to be arising out of, this contest, and/or any use, in any manner, of any entry materials by North Jersey Media Group Inc. and its licensees. North Jersey Media Group Inc. reserves the right to terminate or change this contest at its sole discretion if it becomes aware of any event that could materially affect its security or fairness.
- This contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where taxed, restricted or prohibited by law.
- Entry constitutes agreement to be bound by all the foregoing rules and terms and by the decision of the judges, and by entering this contest, entrants agree to irrevocably grant North Jersey Media Group and its successors and assignees the non-exclusive right to reproduce (and to authorize other to reproduce) their photograph(s) in any medium, either now known or hereinafter devised, and entrants agree to forego any payment or compensation for such rights , without requiring any prior further consent from entrants, except where prohibited by law. Entrant agrees that North Jersey Media Group may publish his or her name and hometown along with the photo whenever any photo is used.
- All winners will be notified by phone prior to having his or her winning photograph(s) published. Entry also constitutes permission to use the winner(s) name and likeness for promotional purposes except where prohibited by law.
