- No purchase is necessary. Sweepstakes is sponsored by North Jersey Media Group Inc. (NJMG), publisher of The Record and Herald News. Sweepstakes is a random drawing to win two tickets to the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Cooking for Kids event on April 30, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel in East Rutherdoed, NJ. Sweepstakes runs April 8, 2012 through April 16, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. E.S.T. Sweepstakes is open to all U.S. residents ages 21 and older, except officers, directors, and employees of NJMG, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies, and immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household as any of the foregoing persons.
- Ads directing readers to the sweepstakes URL will appear in The Record and Herald News on April 8, 2012 – April 16, 2012. To enter, visit http://www.northjersey.com/cookingforkids. The online entry form must be fully completed and submitted by April 16, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. E.S.T. in order to be eligible. Enter as many times as you’d like. Online entry only. No photocopies or facsimiles will be accepted or eligible.
- Only fully completed official entry forms submitted online by April 16, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. E.S.T. will be eligible. No hard copies permitted. NJMG, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents of each of the foregoing entities are not responsible for lost, stolen, ineligible, late, damaged, incorrect, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected, unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, online failures, hardware, software, or any other technical malfunctions, disturbances, or communications failures, or any other circumstances affecting receipt of entries or entrants’ ability to participate in the St. Joseph’s Cooking for Kids Event Sweepstakes. All entries become the exclusive property of NJMG and will not be returned. Additionally, the entry forms and the information provided thereon will be shared with St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. - Two (2) winners as detailed in paragraph 5 below will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received, in a drawing by NJMG, whose decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final. The winners will be randomly selected on or about April 17, 2012 . Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
- Two (2) winners will be selected out of all eligible entries.
Each winner will receive two (2) VIP tickets to the St. Joseph’s Cooking for Kids event on April 30, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel in East Rutherford, NJ. Winners and his or her guest will also receive a VIP gift bag including food and wine and a copy of "Lidia's Italy in Amerca" book. Winners responsible for own transportation to/from the event.
Value per VIP ticket: $250.00, pair $500.00.
- All prizes will be awarded. Only one prize is allowed per household. Prizes awarded to minors will be delivered only to the minor’s parent or legal guardian. Judge’s decisions on all matters of the sweepstakes are final and binding.
- Winners will be notified by phone on or about April 17, 2012 immediately after the random drawing. Each winner must supply valid I.D. and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability & Publicity Release (“Affidavit”) prior to receiving a prize. If a winner fails to provide I.D., fails to complete and sign affidavit, or if prize notification is not answered/confirmed by April 19, 2012 that entry will be void and an alternate winner will be randomly drawn.
- Prizes are non-transferable. Cash redemption, exchange, or substitution is not allowed, except at the sole discretion of NJMG. NJMG reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Taxes and/or fees are the sole responsibility of the winners. Winners will provide their own transportation to and from the event.
- Entry constitutes agreement to hold NJMG, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners, and agents of each of the foregoing entities, harmless from and against any and all damages, liability, losses, and expenses arising out of, or claimed to be arising out of, this Sweepstakes, or acceptance or use of the prize(s).
- NJMG reserves the right to terminate, modify, or otherwise change this Sweepstakes, at its sole discretion, should it determine that its fairness has been compromised. Any tampering with the online Sweepstakes in any manner is prohibited. NJMG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether the online Sweepstakes has been compromised. NJMG reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who the sponsor suspects or has found, in its sole discretion, to have tampered with the Sweepstakes, submitted multiple entries or submitted entries using any automated means. In the event NJMG determines the online entry service has been misused, the Sweepstakes will end. If NJMG determines, in its sole discretion, that technical difficulties or unforeseen events outside NJMG’s control compromise the integrity or viability of the Sweepstakes, NJMG reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Sweepstakes. NJMG’s decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final.
- Sweepstakes subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where taxed, restricted, or prohibited by law.
- By claiming a prize, winners consent to The Record’s publication of their names, likeness, hometown, and prize allocation in the paper. For a list of prize winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: St. Joseph’s Winners, Marketing Department, 1 Garret Mountain Plaza, Woodland Park, NJ 07424. Requests must be received by October 31, 2012.
- Entry constitutes agreement to be bound by all of the foregoing rules and terms, and also constitutes permission to use the winner’s name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
