Jerseyfest 2013 Sweeepstakes And Voucher Giveaway Official Rules

1. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.  Sweepstakes is sponsored by North Jersey Media Group Inc. (“NJMG”), publisher of The Record and operator of www.northjersey.com.  Sweepstakes runs May 16 – May 29, 2013.  The Sweepstakes is open only to residents of New Jersey and New York ages 18 years and older at the time of entry. Officers, directors, and employees of NJMG or New Meadowlands Racetrack, LLC (“NMR”) and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies, and the immediate family members and/or those living in the same household as any of the foregoing individuals are not eligible

2. To be eligible, visit http://www.northjersey.com/exposure and click on the Jerseyfest sweepstakes teaser advertisement, complete the on-line entry form, and submit a fully completed on-line entry form.  All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (E.S.T.) on May 29, 2013.  Online entry only. No hardcopy entries accepted. All entrants submitting a fully completed entry form will be entered in the sweepstakes drawing and will receive a $2 voucher to use at the New Meadowlands Racetrack on the night of Jerseyfest. Limit of one entry per person. Odds of winning sweepstakes prizes depend on the number of eligible entries received. Limit of one voucher per person.

3. Only fully completed entry forms which are submitted online and received by 11:59 p.m. (E.S.T.) on May 29, 2013 will be eligible. NJMG, NMR and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and the officers, directors, employees, owners and agents of each of the foregoing entities are not responsible for lost, stolen, ineligible, late, damaged, incorrect, erroneous, incomplete, defective, illegible, inaccurate, or misdirected entries, unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, online failures, hardware, software, or any other technical malfunctions, disturbances, communications failures, or any other circumstances affecting receipt of entries or entrants’ ability to participate in the Sweepstakes and/or receive a voucher. All entries become the exclusive property of NJMG, and will not be returned. 

4. $2 Voucher for use at New Meadowlands Racetrack During Jerseyfest 2013

All entrants submitting a fully completed online entry form shall receive a $2 Voucher. Limit of one voucher per person. Entrants must be present at Jerseyfest to receive voucher. To receive voucher, entrant must (i) print the receipt that is generated on the entrant’s web browser after submission of a fully completed entry; and (ii) present the receipt, along with valid I.D, at the North Jersey Media Group Exposure location at the Jerseyfest event. Voucher may only be redeemed for $2 of wagering at the teller’s booth at the New Meadowlands Racetrack on the night of Jerseyfest 2013 between the hours of 5 pm through 11 pm. Voucher holder must present valid I.D. to teller in order to redeem voucher. Use and redemption of voucher is subject to the terms printed thereon.

5. Eleven (11) Sweepstakes winners will be randomly selected on or about May 30^th , from all eligible entries received, in a random drawing by NJMG, whose decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final. NJMG will notify winners via e-mail prior to June 1^st 2013. Winners will be announced at Jerseyfest on June 1^st. Announcements of winners will begin at 5 pm and shall continue periodically throughout the event. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winners shall receive the following prizes. Lewd, obscene, inflammatory, or other inappropriate behavior (as determined in the sole discretion of NMR) by a winner and/or any guest(s) will result in forfeiture of prize:

Winner’s Circle Presentations at Jerseyfest

Two (2) winners will appear on the racetrack at the New Meadowlands Racetrack on the night of Jerseyfest for one Winner’s Circle Presentation following a race to be determined by NJMG and/or NMR. Failure by a winner to claim prize when it is announced at Jerseyfest will result in forfeiture of prize and selection of an alternate winner by NJMG. Approximate value: $150 per presentation.

Hambletonian Day VIP Prize Package

One (1) winner will receive a VIP package to be redeemed on Hambletonian Day at the New Meadowlands Racetrack on August 3, 2013. Package includes the following: One VIP Parking Pass; reserved seating for four (4) people to view the race; a meet and greet session with the race winner for four (4) people; lunch buffet and non-alcoholic beverages for the winner and three (3) guests at Pegasus Restaurant; one $20 betting voucher. Winner and guests must be at least 18 years of age. Voucher holder must present valid I.D. to teller in order to redeem voucher. Use and redemption of voucher is subject to the terms printed thereon. Approximate value: $250. Approximate value does not include meet and greet session with the race winner. Due to the exclusivity of the meet and greet session, the meet and greet sessions has no approximate retail value.

Paddock Stable Tour on the Night of Jerseyfest

Five (5) winners will receive a guided tour for the winner and two (2) guests per winner of the Paddock stables at the New Meadowlands Racetrack on the night of Jerseyfest. Guests must be at least 10 years of age. Failure by a winner to claim prize when it is announced at Jerseyfest will result in forfeiture of prize and selection of an alternate winner by NJMG. Due to the exclusivity of this prize, the Paddock Stable Tour has no approximate retail value.

Ride in the Start-Up Car at a Race on the Night of Jerseyfest

Two (2) winners will ride in the Start-Up Car at the beginning of a race to be determined by NJMG and/or NMR at the New Meadowlands Racetrack on the night of Jerseyfest. Failure by a winner to claim prize when it is announced at Jerseyfest will result in forfeiture of prize and selection of an alternate winner by NJMG. Due to the exclusivity of this prize, the Ride in the Start-Up Car has no approximate retail value.

Sit in the Announcer’s Booth on the Night of Jerseyfest

One (1) winner will have the opportunity to sit in the Announcer’s Booth at the New Meadowlands Racetrack on the night of Jerseyfest. Failure by the winner to claim prize when it is announced at Jerseyfest will result in forfeiture of prize and selection of an alternate winner by NJMG. Due to the exclusivity of this prize, the appearance in the Announcer’s Booth has no approximate retail value.

6. All prizes will be awarded. Maximum of one prize per household. NJMG reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.  

7. The winners of the sweepstakes prizes will be announced at Jerseyfest between the hours of 5- 11pm. Winners must supply valid I.D. and sign, complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release prior to redeeming any prize.  If a winner is not present at the Jerseyfest event or fails to claim a prize within twenty (20) minutes, or if a winner fails to return required documentation, that winner’s entry will be void and an alternate winner will be selected in a random drawing.   

8. Entry constitutes agreement to hold NJMG and NMR and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies, and the officers, directors, employees, owners and agents of each of the foregoing entities, harmless from and against any and all damages, liability, losses, and expenses arising out of, or claimed to be arising out of, this Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of any prize(s) and/or voucher(s).

9. NJMG reserves the right to terminate, modify, or otherwise change this Sweepstakes at its sole discretion if it becomes aware of any event that could compromise its security or fairness.  NJMG’s decisions on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final.  Any tampering with the online Sweepstakes in any manner is prohibited.  NJMG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether the online Sweepstakes has been tampered with or whether the security or fairness of the Sweepstakes has been compromised.  NJMG reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who the sponsor suspects or has found, in its sole discretion, to have tampered with the Sweepstakes, submitted multiple entries or submitted entries using any automated means.  In the event NJMG determines the Sweepstakes and/or the vouchers have been tampered with, NJMG reserves the right to void the entries and/or vouchers at issue and/or terminate the Sweepstakes and/or voucher program or the relevant portion(s) thereof.  If NJMG determines, in its sole discretion, that technical difficulties or unforeseen events outside NJMG’s control compromise the integrity or viability of the Sweepstakes and/or vouchers, NJMG reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Sweepstakes and/or vouchers or the relevant portion(s) thereof.

10. Prizes are non-transferable.  No substitution, transfer, exchange or cash redemption of prize is permitted, except at the sole discretion of NJMG.  Taxes and/or fees are the sole responsibility of the winners. Use of vouchers is subject to the terms printed thereon, if any.

11. This Sweepstakes and the use of the vouchers is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void in Florida and elsewhere where taxed, restricted, or prohibited by law.

12. Entry constitutes agreement to be bound by all of the foregoing rules and terms, and also constitutes permission to use the winner’s name and likeness for advertising and/or promotional purposes, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
